-----------------------------------------------------
[Summary from imdb.com] In 18th century France, the Chevalier de Fronsac and his native American friend Mani are sent by the King to the Gevaudan province to investigate the killings of hundreds by a mysterious beast. My comment: The first French film I have ever seen. I refused to listen to the cantonese dubbing like I do when I watch Japanese drama and I struggled. This was the first time I have ever relied completely on the subtitles. They were blinking so fast I wish I knew French. I could only catch single words and short phrases like ecoutez and bonjour monsieur. The story is divided into many layers and watching the title character uncovers thems one by one is indeed interesting but the process was a bit predictable. Nevertheless, it was worth my 2 1/2 hours. Other things worth mentioning: Vincent Cassel and Mark Dacascos are such eye candies :P 1 Comments:
