----------------------------------------------------- Two days ago, Mr Hsu called me. I don't remember engaging in anything involving him, but refrained from "huh"-ing him. He said the South African consulate's been around the school during the Curriculm Tour and was impressed by my schoolmates' performances and he's inviting them to perform in the Annual Consulate Dinner (or something like that) in Shangri-La Hotel. He's needing 3 MCs and because Cassy's gone I'm the replacement. Me? Why me? He said he has seen me as MC. When?? I remember I was the stuttering netball match commentator who hid behind the pillar. I remember I was the MC for St Paul's Day who hid behind the curtains for most of the time. And that was it. The whole thing didn't make sense to me. Yesterday I woke up and remembered a man of african heritage. He stopped by our Science Soc counter. I remembered myself introducing to him our famous wiggly blob. He even asked me if it was edible. On his side was Mr Hsu. Suddenly everything got clearer. I landed on my first professional job. I don't remember blogging about the HKU summer course which I ended a week ago, and which denbo and apo attended a year ago. It was far less amusing that I was told (Yes, you Denbo!), but I did made friends that I would definitely keep in touch with. I made friends that would share thoughts. I made friends that would cook me breakfast and ring me up when it's ready. And I made friends that would sing wildly with me in public premises when no foreign animal is around. Embrace your future classmates, denbo. 9 weeks since final exams were over. 9 months till the execution of our next challenge. Don't disgust me with any Ds, Veronica. 3 Comments:
